Robert’s Ti Bike, from dream to reality

Few months ago Robert took the wise decision to hire my services to design his new bike.

Robert is a local rider member of the DMCX Cafe Racer crew and we have been cycling together for a couple of years so I already knew his riding style.

Knowing the person riding style is helpful in the process of designing a frame that will correspond to the futur owner’s expectation and style.

The style refer to the looking of the frame and by extension the complete bike, but also the bike riding feels.

Robert wanted a “Do it all” bike that is equally comfortable for daily commuting in all weather condition but also performant in long sportive week end rides.

The frame had to be responsive and strong to output the powerful pedal strokes from Robert through torsion of the rear triangle with minimum power loss.

As we often exchanged ideas while riding or running we had a final meeting over a cup of coffee in downtown Nagoya allowing me to resume Robert dream’s bike images he had in mind before starting work on the design work.

The end result is a “Swiss Knife” style Titanium Road bike that can handle all Robert’s needs.

A bike with a unique frame built to last for ever yet versatile.
