Cannondale SuperSix EVO Sizes and Specifications

This page focus on the Cannondale SuperSix EVO Sizes and specifications in all its frames variation.

My intent with this post is to record the technical information of the Cannondale SuperSix EVO frame.
More precisely the geometries and specifications as a base reference to what the professional teams are racing with.
However, this page can also be used by anybody interested in the Cannondale SuperSix EVO road bike and its various models and variants including the rim brake version.

SuperSix EVO Variations

Hey Nerdy Bike friends, please consider subscribing to my newsletter to receive an email whenever I update the site with bike nerd content like this one. No spam, no money requests, just free updates. 🙂

The Cannondale SuperSix Evo and its variation feature the same geometry. The only differences are the weight of the frame is affected by the different type of carbon fiber.

Depending on the frame size, the SuperSix Evo Hi-Mod is 100-200g lighter than the SuperSix Evo.
Then there is the 200 units limited edition called the SuperSix EVO Leichtbau.
Rigoberto Uran owns the Cannondale SuperSix EVO Leichtbau frame number 113.

Hugh Carthy and Merhawi Kudus are two other riders from team EF Education-EasyPost racing with the SuperSix EVO Leichtau in La Vuelta a Espana 2022.

The SuperSix EVO rim brake model and “women” also feature the same frame geometries as the disc version.
To sum it up; if it is a SuperSix, it is the same geometry whatever the surname is placed after that name.

Eight sizes and Two Forks

The professional teams using the Cannondale SuperSix are EF Education-EasyPost on the UCI World Tour, EF Education-Tibco SVB on the women’s World Tour, Valcar – Travel & Service (VAL), and St-Michel-Auber93 on the Pro Continental Men and Women.

Please visit the teams listed above to see each rider’s bike size. I do add up new bike checks whenever it is rainy outside, and I cannot spend time outdoors. This means I am consistent but irregular in the timing of writing as I am only a human after all.

The Cannondale SuperSix is available in 8 sizes, from the tiny size 44 to the giant size 62.
Not all sizes are available to all variations of the Cannondale SuperSix, and some colors and sizes are available in some countries but not others.

Cannondale claims the SuperSix design improves the aerodynamics so much that it will save the equivalent of 30 Watts of your energy when riding at the speed of 48km/h compared to the previous version.

If this does apply to you that’s a great feature, but if you are like me when the only time you get over 48km/h is on the way down the hills, then you will appreciate the fact this fast frame is also designed to go uphill.

It would be great to know what is the improvement of a frame design at any speed over 20km/h. Not just at 48km/h.
This would allow us to compare apples to apples when looking at any brand of road bike frame.

The Cannondale SuperSix EVO Hi-Mod is the bike used by the team EF Education-EasyPost for the mountain stages specifically.

Rigoberto Uran won the mountain stage 17 of the Vuleta a Espana 2022 on the Cannondale SuperSix EVO Hi-Mod.

Cannondale SuperSix EVO Sizes and Specifications

I will not repeat all the marketing content you can find over the internet and will dive into the geometry and specifications of the frame instead.

Let’s start with the fork. There are two different sizes of forks and headsets on the Cannondale SuperSixe based on the frame sizes.

The frames size 44 to 54 have a 1-1/8″ to 1-1/4″ steerer and 55mm fork rake (aka offset), and the size 56 to 62 have a 1-1/8″ to 1-3/8″ steerer and 45mm fork offset (aka rake).

The frame sizes 44, 48, and 51 feature a 74mm Bottom-Bracket drop. The 54 and 56 have a 72mm BB drop.
The 58, 60, and 62 have a 69mm BB drop.

The bottom bracket standard on the Cannondale SuperSix EVO frame is the BB30 pressFit (aka PF30a).
You will need the Park Tool BBT-30.4 and Park Tool HHP-2 or HHP-3 to do the maintenance work on the BB30 PressFit bottom brackets.

30mm Tire Clearance

All sizes of the Cannondale SuperSix Evo feature the same 408mm chainstay length allowing 30mm of tire clearance.
The tire clearance on the rim brake version will mainly depend on the brake manufacturer, which is mostly 28mm.

The wheel axles are a 12×142 Speed Release thru-axle on the frame and a 12x100mm Speed Release thru-axle on the fork. These are compatible with most standard thru-axle wheelsets.

The front derailleur hanger is a braze type, and the brakes are flat mount disc type or rim brakes direct mount type.
