DMCX is a cycling blog dedicated to pro riders’ bike sizes, WorldTour coverage, and the culture around bicycles. It’s a place to explore the machines the pros ride, the events that shape the season, and the details that make cycling such a fascinating sport.
Behind DMCX is Mickaël Demonchaux, though most people just call me Micka. I’m a lifelong cyclist, bicycle designer, and coffee enthusiast.
Bicycles have shaped my life from the very beginning. I grew up in France, racing BMX on the streets of my hometown in the mid-80s before joining real BMX races. When mountain bikes exploded across Europe, I switched to bigger wheels. First cross-country, then downhill, where I discovered the speed and adrenaline I craved most.
As a teenager, I spent countless hours sketching bicycle designs in my school notebooks. One of my teachers even suggested to my mother that I should take up an apprenticeship so I could turn my obsession into a profession. That advice stayed with me.
Since then, bicycles have taken me far beyond the local tracks. I’ve opened four independent bike shops across two countries, traveled the world working in the industry, and represented an elite bike company as an international sales rep. All while racing and riding in some extraordinary places.
Since 2001, I’ve called Japan home. Here I design custom titanium bicycles. Machines that reflect the same passion that’s been with me since my BMX days. These days, I enjoy long rides on my own creations, whether it’s L’Étape du Tour, challenging cyclosportives, or endurance brevets.

When I’m not in the saddle, you’ll often find me running marathons, savoring a cup of artisan-roasted coffee, or following the WorldTour. Lucky enough to live in a time zone where I can watch most of the races live in the evening.
Through DMCX, I share that passion with readers worldwide: documenting the bikes, the rides, and the cycling culture that continue to inspire me.
