This page is about Mathieu Van Der Poel’s 2023 Cyclocross Bike size and specification. As you know, I focus on professional road bikes as raced on the Tour de France and other Grand Tours.
I receive so many requests about the Cyclocross bike of Mathieu Van Der Poel so I decided to write a special post.
This page is dedicated to Alpecin-Deceuninck Team 2022 presentation, the best ProTeam on the UCI World Rankings.
The Belgian ProTeam has amassed 8251 UCI points in 2021. Ranking the team as sixth in the UCI Team ranking. To put things in perspective, the second ProTeam, Arkea-Samsic is 17th in the UCI Team ranking.
Being top ranked ProTeam allows the Alpecin-Deceuninck to participate to all the UCI World Tour races, including the three Grand Tours; Giro d’Italia, Tour de France and Vuelta a Espana.
After an excellent 2021 season, Alpecin-Deceuninck team is strengthening for the 2022 season with nine incoming transfers to support Mathieu Van Der Poel, Tim Merlier and Jasper Philipsen.
This is the beginning of a new era in road bike cycling; The end of 11 speed.
Shimano released its long-awaited 12-speed groupset on the last week of the Vuelta 2021. Despite being glued to my laptop screen I could not spot any pros finishing the Vuelta a Espana with the new 12-speed groupset. The Vuelta 2021 was thus the last Grand Tour raced (and Won!) on an 11-speed road bike.
The first Pro rider to be officially racing on Shimano’s new 12 speed Dura-Ace groupset is Mathieu Van Der Poel.
No need to introduce who is Mathieu Van Der Poel (aka MVDP) here since you must be knowing him since you landed on this page.
I’ll spare you time and jump straight to the fun part of reviewing Mr. Van Der Poel’s Canyon Aeroad CFR 2022 bike size and set up.
