Peter Sagan’s Tarmac SL7 2021 Bike Size

This is Peter Sagan’s Tarmac SL7 2021 Bike Size as he races during 2020 and 2021 season with Bora – Hangrohe team.

The Whole team rides the 2021 Specialized S-Works Tarmac SL7 since December 2019 however the bike is officially retail stores since summer 2020. The Tarmac SL7 does replace the Tarmac SL6 and… Peter’s beloved Venge too.

To make it short, the Tarmac SL7 is taking the best of both models, lightweight Tarmac SL6 and Aero Venge. The Tarmac SL7 is presented as a “Do-it-all”, more aero than the SL6 and yet still light and stiff enough to suit the climbers and sprinters of the team.

It is also making logistic more simple for Bora – Hansgrohe team to carry only one time of bike for the whole team, it does simplify bike swaps on the go as long as size is close enough to fit the needy rider.

What is Peter Sagan’s Tarmac SL7 2021 Bike Size

I think there is no need to present who is Peter Sagan so I will focus on his bike.

Peter is 1m84 tall and weight 74kg at optimum form. He races on the size 56cm Tarmac SL7 which is the same size as his previous Venge but with some slight difference in the geometry.

Specialized recommends the size 56cm to riders from 1m75 to 1m80 tall.

The team Bora – Hansgrohe uses the services of Retul for the fitting and I think they are doing an excellent work. All the riders who have been through Retul fitting looks very well positioned.

Peter’s saddle height is set at 755mm, measure from the center of the Bottom-Bracket to the top of the saddle. The seat post has 20mm offset and the saddle is set at 70mm setback.

The distance from the from of the saddle to the handlebar reach is 617mm. This is slightly shorter than on the Venge bike set up last year at 623mm.

The stem is the 150mm integrated Tarmac stem mated with 420mm width S-Works Aerofly II handlebars.

The drop between the top of the saddle and the top of the handlebar is 105mm.

Note the Tarmac SL7 has a 1mm shorter Top-Tube, a 3mm shorter head tube and a 3mm longer fork compared with the Venge.

The remaining of the geometry details are literally identical. Exact same angles, chain stays length, BB drop and wheelbase between the 2019 Venge and the 2021 Tarmac SL7. This makes it easier to adapt from one bike to the other.

Peter uses a 172.5mm length Shimano Dura Ace crankset with 53/39 chainrings.

The details specific to Peter Sagan bike set lays in the pedals spacing. Peter has a wide Q-Factor so he uses the Shimano Dura Ace SPD-R9100-L +4mm wide Q-Factor.

The 3 times world champion uses the widest saddle available which the S-Works Ronin Evo 155mm.
