Team Euskaltel-Euskadi 2022

This page is dedicated to the Spanish Cycling Team Euskaltel-Euskadi 2022. It serves as a hub for all the Men team riders.
As time goes by, I will add links to each rider and his bike size.

The Euskaltel-Euskadi team is a Continental UCI Pro Team which means it can race in the Vuelta a Espana upon invitation from the organization.

Apart from this, the team competes on the UCI Pro Tour, not to be confused with the UCI World Tour.

Euskaltel-Euskadi is a Co-op

The team Euskaltel-Euskadi has the particularity to be a Foundation located in the Spanish Basque country (Euskadi in the Basque language).
The structure differs from other pro teams as Euskaltel-Euskadi is a Co-op supporting the Basque country, local companies, or Co-op and its local riders.

As a result, the team supports and uses local brands as much as possible, including Orbea bikes, which is also a co-op, and Etxeondo.
There are only riders from the Basque country on the Euskaltel-Euskadi team.
The Basque country is a land of cycling like Brittany in France (See the post about What are those flags on the Tour de France) for context.

A lot of famous pro cyclists come from the northern Spanish autonomous community region with Bilbao as the capital city.

The Bikes and Bits

The team Euskaltel-Euskadi races the season 2022 on Orbea road bikes. The main model is the Orbea Orca OMX.
The gears are the Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 11-speed, disc brake type group with FSA PowerBox Carbon cranksets.

The wheels are the Vision rolling on Vittoria Corsa graphene 2.0 tubular tires.
The saddle and bar tape are from Prologo, the handlebars, stem, and seat post are from Orbea, and the third contact point of the riders is the Shimano Dura-Ace pedals.

The team Euskaltel-Euskadi riders use the Garmin Edge GPS and rely on Maurten hydrogel to stay fueled during training and racing.

Euskaltel-Euskadi riders wear Ekoi helmets and sunglasses, Etxeondo team jerseys, bib-shorts, gloves, and socks. The whole team wears DMT cycling shoes which gives a sense of unity, unlike many pro teams without shoe sponsors.

The eight selected riders to compete on La Vuelta a Espana 2022 are; Carlos Canal, Joan Bou, Xabier Mikel Azparren, Mikel Iturria, Mikel Bizkarra, Gotzon Martin, Louis angel Mate, and Ibai Azurmendi.
