German bicycle brand, Cube, is the team sponsor.
Girmay is mainly racing on the Cube Litening C:68X aero road bike size 56cm.
His bike is set with a 130mm/400mm stem bar with 0 stacks. The stem angle is 6 degrees. The handlebar is wrapped with Prologo bar tape.

The Shimano Dura-Ace crank arms are 175mm long, and the pedals are the Look Keo Blade Carbon Ceramic Ti models.

Biniam uses the Prologo Zero II Nac saddle (Measures: 275x134mm) and the Prologo Nago C3 on the Giro d’Italia Stage 10. Unfortunately, I do not have the saddle heights and position data yet. I have asked Girmay but he certainly got more important things to do right now than reply to my message. So, the saddle position will be for another update.

All About Marginal Gains

The bike is tuned up with CeramicSpeed’s ceramic bearings in the bottom bracket, wheels, and derailleur OSPW system. As a side note, Girmay is seen racing with CeramicSpeed Aero fended derailleur‘s cage on stages 1 and 3 of the Giro d’Italia. See a picture of it here.

The wheels are Newman Carbon spinning on Continental’s Grand Prix 5000 S TR and Competition Pro LTD Tubeless tires with a section between 25 and 28 depending on the race profiles. Tires are filled with Caffélatex sealant from Effeto Mariposa.

Another thing that is being adapted to race profiles are the disc rotor, the front’s disc size is sometimes 140mm and other time a 160mm diameter.
The main reason is not really for weight saving but more to the fact that the smaller size handles braking well enough on flat courses and is less potential to wobble and rattle against the brake pads during the race.

While I am on the Marginal gain subject, Girmay’s chain is waxed depending on race types. This is to optimize the chain efficiency.

Girmay races with Nalini jerseys, DMT KR1 cycling shoes in white color, and Force helmets and sunglasses.

Biniam Girmay’s Bike Retail Price is 9000 Euros.
