Giro d’Italia 2022’s Team Bikes and Riders


Here we go, my version of the Giro d’Italia 2022’s Team Bikes and Riders presentation.

May 6th marks the start of the 105th edition of Giro d’Italia.
Starting from Budapest in Hungary.
During 21 days the race will cover a total of 3,445.6km and 50,580m of cumulative climbs so synonymous with the Giro to reach Verona in Italy.

Giro d’Italia 2022 brief presentation

The 2022 Giro d’Italia is divided into seven flat stages, six in with rolling hills and six others in the high mountains, with two Time trials on the second and the final day.

After an individual time trial of 9.2 kilometers and a flat stage, the peloton reaches Italy via Sicily, home of Vincenzo Nibali.
There, the peloton will meet Mt. Etna, the first of seven mountain top finishes.
A lot of climbing is included in this edition, especially during the third week. The best climbers will automatically appear on top of the rankings once we’re in this final week.

Giro d’Italia 2022 21 stages:
Stage 1 (06/05): Budapest – Visegrad (195km rolling with hilltop finish)
Stage 2 (07/05): Budapest – Budapest (9,2km individual time trial)
Stage 3 (08/05): Kaposvar – Balatonfured (201km rolling)
Stage 4 (10/05): Avola – Etna – Nicolosi (170km mountains, summit finish)
Stage 5 (11/05): Catania – Messina (174km flat)
Stage 6 (12/05): Palmi – Scalea (192km flat, rolling finish)
Stage 7 (13/05): Diamante – Potenza (196km mountains)
Stage 8 (14/05): Napoli – Napoli (153km hilly)
Stage 9 (15/05): Isernia – Blockhaus (189km mountains, summit finish)
Stage 10 (17/05): Pescara – Jesi (196km flat, hilly finish)
Stage 11 (18/05): Santarcangelo di Romagna – Reggio Emilia (203km flat)
Stage 12 (19/05): Parma – Genova (202km hilly)
Stage 13 (20/05): Sanremo – Cuneo (150km hills, then flat finish)
Stage 14 (21/05): Santena – Torino (147km climbs, hilly finish)
Stage 15 (22/05): Rivarolo Canavese – Cogne (177km mountains)
Stage 16 (24/05): Salo – Aprica (202km mountains, summit finish)
Stage 17 (25/05): Ponte di Legno – Lavarone (168km mountains)
Stage 18 (26/05): Borgo Valsugana – Treviso (151km flat)
Stage 19 (27/05): Marano Lagunare – Santuario di Castelmonte (178km mountains, summit finish)
Stage 20 (28/05): Belluno – Marmolada (167km mountains, summit finish)
Stage 21 (29/05): Verona – Verona (17,4km individual time trial)

INEOS Grenadiers

Ineos Grenadiers’ clear goal is to win the Giro d’Italia this year again. The team has won the Pink jersey every year since 2018. Richard Carapaz has a dedicated team to support him to win it again in 2022.

The team is well-balanced to fight for victory no matter the terrain. Domenico Pozzovivo has the capabilities to be among the top of the rankings in the final week with the support of Jan Hirt and Rein Taaramäe.
Biniam Girmay, Barnabás Peák, Aimé De Gendt, Lorenzo Rota and Loïc Vliegen are motivated to animate the flat and hilly stages.
