Magnus Cort’s 2022 Bike Size

I am writing about Magnus Cort’s 2022 Bike Size.
The Danish road racing cyclist is racing the UCI World Tour with the Team EF Education-EasyPost.
Cort has become known to the general public on the Tour de France 2022 with his several day’s escapes.
However, Magnus Cort Nielsen is more than a stage breakaway rider. He is an experienced and talented rider who won several Grand Tours stages such as the Vuelta a Espana and the Tour de France.

Cort’s 2022 Bike Size

Magnus Cort is 1m83 tall and races on the Cannondale SystemSix Size 58cm on flat and rolling hills races. Like the rest of the EF Education-EasyPost team, Magnus rides the Cannondale SuperSix EVO Hi-Mod on mountain stages in the same size as his SystemSix..

Cannondale recommends the size 58cm for riders measuring 1m82 to 1m93. Of course, that is a general guiding range. It is best to try a bike before buying it.

Cort is a sprinter type of rider, but not a pure sprinter has a fast top sprinting speed and the ability to go over the hills. This skill makes him a great contender for stage wins when ending in a breakaway group.

Magnus uses a 130mm by 400mm Vision 5D aero stem bar combo.
I do not know his Prologo saddle position as I am writing this analysis, however, I will update as soon as I get the accurate information.

Magnus Cort’s bike features the new Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 12-speed, disc brakes type. FSA crankset with Power2Max power meter and Speedplay pedals (a Wahoo brand) connected to Wahoo GPS unit.

Fat Tires Marginal Gains

The wheels are the Vision (an FSA brand) and Magnus race either with Vittoria Corsa Graphene 2.0 tubeless or tubulars, depending on the race profile. Typically, he uses the tubeless in the flat and hilly races and the tubulars when total cumulated climbs pass 2,000m.
The reason for this choice is the tires are 28mm in width.
In this size, the Tubeless tires are 300g heavier than Tubulars of the same size.
However, the gain is about 15 Watts thanks to the lower rolling resistance and better aerodynamics.

Magnus Cort uses a 175mm crank arm’s length and pushes on his Wahoo dimpled (aka Speedplay) pedals through his white color Northwave Extreme Pro 2 cycling shoes.
Like the rest of the team Magnus wears a POC helmet and sunglasses, Rapha jersey, bib-short, gloves, and socks. He also wears a WHOOP strap 3.0 biometric sensor.

I enjoyed watching Magnus Cort realizing his dream Tour de France 2022 in front of the Denmark crowd on stages 2 and 3.
Please check on Magnus’s Instagram to see how humble he is. High five Magnus!
