This page is dedicated to the Australian pro cyclist Simon Clarke’s 2022 Bike Size.
Simon Clarke went from having no contract at the end of the season 2021 to winning stage 5 of the Tour de France 2022. What an emotional roller coaster it must be.
Stage 5 of the Tour de France 2022 is the one with 20km of cobblestones, the most complicated stage of this year’s Tour de France.
Clarke’s Bike Size
Simon Clarke is racing the Tour de France 2022 with the Team Israel PremierTech.
By winning stage 5 he also brought home the first stage win on the Tour de France in the team’s history.

Simon Clarke is 1m75 tall and rides on the Factor Ostro Size 52cm.
He is considered a climber type of rider with a fast sprinting ability. Clarke’s weight is 63kg at his peak form.
The Nerdy Bike Fit Bits
Here comes the nerdy bike fit content; Clarke’s Selle Italia saddle‘s position is at 719mm from the center of the bottom bracket to the top of the saddle.
The distance between the tip of the saddle to the top of the handlebar axle is 560mm.
BlackInc provided a new bar stem combo to the team Israel PremierTech a few weeks before the Tour de France.
The new handlebar has a different back sweep than the previous model. It has led Clarke to use a 140mm stem length instead of 130mm as his bike fittings.
The handlebar width on Simon’s bike is 400mm model.
Clarke’s Wear
Simon Clarke races with a 172.5mm crank arm length, Shimano Dura-Ace SPD-SL pedals, and Garneau Course Air Lite XZ cycling shoes in white color, of course.
Like the rest of the Israel PremierTech team riders, Clarke wears an HJC Furion helmet, Jinga Jersey, bib-short and gloves, and Scicon sunglasses.
Fine Tuned Bike
Clarke’s Factor Ostro is rolling with Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 11-speed groupset. Shimano is not an official sponsor of the Team Israel PremierTech team which explains the delayed delivery of the new 12-speed group set. Priority is to the official teams first, which also have difficulties to receive the 12 speeds components.
The Blackinc wheel’s profile and types depend on the stage profile and rider preferences. The team uses tubeless, and tubular Maxxis High Road SL tires 25mm in width.
Clarke’s Factor Ostro bike has some CeramicSpeed ceramic bearings in the bottom bracket and the wheel hubs. The chain is optimized with waxing from Split Second chain wax.
Simon Clarke’s 2022 Factor Ostro VAM’s price is approximately US$ 15,000 with the BlackInc Sixty wheels.
Hammerhead provides the GPS cycling computer, and PowerWatts provides the live output data through its sensors in the Rotor crankset spider.
Same Sizes Team Mates
Simon Clarke and Michael Woods are the same height and ride the same bike size, check Michael Woods Factor Ostro bike here.
I bet Israel-PremierTech is proud to have Simon this year. He has a lot experience as a pro cyclist, bringing a lot of wisdom to the team.
