Romain Bardet’s 2023 Bike Size

This page is dedicated to the French cyclist Romain Bardet’s 2023 Bike Size.
Romain Bardet is racing the UCI World Tour 2023 with the Team DSM. Bardet has a contract with team DSM up to the season 2024 included.

But First Bardet’s Quick Intro

Romain Bardet’s career highlights are second in the Tour de France in 2016 and third in 2017.
There are more than these two top-three finishes on the Tour’s General Classification in Bardet’s immense career.
Bardet has been competing on the UCI World Tour since 2012, and in 2022 he is still winning GC races like the Tour Of The Alps and battling for a top ten finish on the Tour de France.
That’s impressive longevity at the top of the competition.

On its website, Scott recommends the size M to riders measuring 1m70 to 1m80.
It is usual to observe professional riders selecting one size smaller than the manufacturer recommended size.

Scott Foil RC 2023

Before I go on with Romain Bardet fitting on his Scott bike, let me write a few words about the Scott Foil RC 2023.
DSM team turned up on the Tour de France 2022 with the new evolution model of the Scott Foil RC.
Until the Tour 2022, the team was using the Foil RC as the aero road bike for sprint and fast-rolling stages, and the Scott Addict RC for mountain stages.
Since the release of the Foil RC 2023 model, the whole team races on the aero road bike throughout all stages of the Tour de France, including the steepest cols like La Super Planche des Belles Filles, Le Galibier, Alpe D’Huez, Col d’Aspin, and Cote du Granon.
The Foil RC 2023 version is the “Do It All” bike for the team DSM.

Bardet’s Fitting

Romain Bardet has his saddle at 784mm from the center of the bottom bracket. He uses a Syntace Seatpost with a 15mm setback and his saddle has a 57mm setback.
The distance from the tip of Bardet’s saddle to the handlebar virtual clamp axle is 602mm.
The handlebar and stem are the new Syntace one-piece combo. Bardet uses the 140mm length and 380mm width model.

Stock Shimano

Shimano is an official sponsor of the team DSM. You might already know it by looking at the Shimano name on the chainstays tubes of the pro bikes.
As per Shimano’s rules, the DSM team bikes are all rolling on a completely stock Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 12-speed groupset.
No ceramic bearings nor exotic parts are present on the bikes.

Romain Bardet uses a Dura-Ace 172.5mm crankset arm’s length with 54/40 chainrings. Note the 54/40 are the new Shimano standard replacing the 53/39 teeth.
On the mountain stages, Bardet uses the Shimano Dura-Ace C38 carbon wheels with Vittoria Corsa tubular tires in a 26mm section.

Wears and Bike Price

Romain Bardet wears a Scott cadence Plus helmet, Scott sunglasses, Nalini jersey, bib-shorts, gloves, and socks.

Romain Bardet’s 2023 Scott Foil RC cost approximately US$ 13,200.

Romain Bardet’s 2022 Bike Size post is a developing story, and I’ll update it as soon as more material information becomes available.
