Bahrain – Victorious 2023 Cycling Team


I am writing this page about the Bahrain – Victorious 2023 cycling team to document each rider’s bike sizes and setup.

The goal of this page is to reference the Bahrain – Victorious 2023 cycling team, racing season plans, and team bikes specification.
Ultimately, I plan to write a review of the bike size and setup of each rider on the team.
It is a long goal, and I will keep updating the website throughout the season(s).

Opportunistic Winning

As the team name says, the WorldTour team is from the Kingdom of Bahrain which is the co-sponsor since 2017.
Obviously, for practical training and racing reasons, the team is based in Europe during the UCI WorldTour season.

The Bahrain – Victorious 2023 cycling team is racing the whole UCI WorldTour calendar including the Spring Classics, the Monuments, and the three Grand Tours.

The team is a opportunist with goals of winning on one-day classics and stage wins.

Bahrain – Victorious 2023 cycling team starts the 2023 racing season on the Santos Tour Down Under with Bilbao, Arndt, Bauhaus, Gradek, Pernsteiner, Scott, and Sütterlin.

MIHOLJEVIĆ Fran, RAJOVIĆ Dušan, GRADEK Kamil, PASQUALON Andrea, MOHORIČ Matej, MILAN Jonathan, and WRIGHT Fred are hitting the Paves of Paris-Roubaix 2023.

CARUSO Damiano, BUITRAGO Santiago, HAIG Jack, MÄDER Gino, PASQUALON Andrea, MILAN Jonathan, SÜTTERLIN Jasha, and ZAMBANINI Edoardo are aiming at some stage wins on the Giro d’Italia 2023.

Bilbao, Wright, Landa, Mohorič, and Poels are riding the Tour de France 2023.

The riders for the Vuelta a Espana 2023 will be selected later after the second part of the cycling season which is around June, or July. The selection will depend on which rider is in great physical form for the third Grand Tour of the season.

Merida Bikes

Bahrain – Victorious team is racing the 2023 season on Merida bikes.
The road bikes are the Merida Reacto for the sprinters and the Merida Scultura which is the “Do-it-all” bike for the climbers.
Merida Time Warp is the bike for the Time-Trial races.

The Taiwanese bike manufacturer is popular in some countries, especially in Asia, as a rival to Giant bikes, the “other” Taiwanese brand.
Merida bikes are not distributed in USA and Canada as Merida is the OEM producer of Specialized bikes.
Merida and Specialized have a non-competitive agreement for the North-America market. Hence, no Merida racing bikes in North America.

The bikes are assembled with the Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 9200 12-speed groupset.
The Vision Tech wheels are rolling on Continental tires.

The three touch points of Bahrain – Victorious riders are the Vision Tech handlebar/stem combo, Prologo saddles fastened on FSA seat posts, and Shimano SPD-SL pedals.

The riders of Bahrain – Victorious wear Rudy Project helmets and sunglasses, Prologo gloves, Ale cycling jerseys, and bib-shorts.

Like many other teams in the Worldtour, the riders of Bahrain – Victorious team do not have cycling shoes sponsored at a team level. Each rider is free to wear the shoes that fit him best.
