I am documenting the rider’s size and bikes specification on this page.
Ultimately, I am trying to add a link to each rider’s bike size throughout his racing career.
The Team
The AG2R Citroën Cycling Team is an integral part of the cycling world, belonging to the UCI WorldTour. The team is based in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France.
With a diverse roster of 29 riders hailing from eight countries across three continents, AG2R Citroën Cycling Team is not just a French team, but a team with an increasing international presence.
The team is composed of eight climbers, eight punchers, four Classics specialists, four all-rounders, three sprinters, and two rouleurs, making them a well-rounded team prepared for any race, from Grand Tours to Classics.
During the 2022-2023 inter-season, five riders transferred out for other teams, and five joined the AG2R Citroën Cycling Team 2023.
Lilian Calmejane went to Intermarché – Circus – Wanty, Clément Champoussin joined Team Arkéa Samsic, Bob Jungel went with BORA – hansgrohe, Gijs Van Hoecke now rides for Human Powered Health, and Anthony Jullien retired.
Alex Baudin (ex-Swiss Racing Academy), Franck Bonnamour (ex-B&B Hotels – KTM), Pierre Gautherat (ex-SCO Dijon – Team Matériel – Velo.com), and Bastien Tronchon (ex-AG2R Citroën U23 Team).

The Neo-Pro to Watch
Bastien Tronchon already made a name for himself as he outsprinted Pavel Sivakov and won stage 3 of Vuelta a Burgos 2022 for his first race with AG2R Citroën Cycling Team. Alejandro Valverde finished third behind Tronchon and Sivakov.
Needless to write but I still do it, Tronchon is on my “Watch list” for the season 2023 along with other talented Gen Z riders in the peloton.
AG2R Citroën Cycling Team 2023’s Grand Tours
As a WorldTour team, the AG2R Citroën Cycling Team races the entire UCI World Tour 2023 road racing calendar which includes the spring classics and the three Grand Tours.
DEWULF Stan, SCHÄR Michael, VAN AVERMAET Greg, RAUGEL Antoine, GAUTHERAT Pierre, NAESEN Oliver, and TOUZÉ Damien are affronting the cobbles of the Paris-Roubaix 2023.
Ben O’Connor, Oliver Naesen, and Greg Van Avermaet are racing for the Maillot Jaune on the Tour de France 2023.
Franck Bonnamour is racing La Vuelta a Espana 2023.
Who rides what is updated as we approach the race date. As you can expect, the riders’ selection depends on their physical form at the time of the races.
The Bikes and Gears
BMC now moves into its third year as a sponsor of the AG2R Citroën Cycling Team.
The AG2R Citroën Cycling Team has the BMC Teammachine SLR01, BMC Timemachine Road, and BMC Timemachine at its disposal.
The BMC bikes of the team are equipped with Campagnolo Super Record EPS groupsets and wheels and Pirelli tubeless and tubular tires which you can get here.
It is important to note the fact AG2R Citroën Cycling Team is the last and only team using Campagnolo gears in the WorldTour professional peloton.
What did happens to Campagnolo? That is the subject of another post.
The three contact points of the riders with their bike are the BMC handlebars/stem combo, wrapped with Fizik bar take, Fizik saddle, and Look Keo Carbon Blade Ceramic ti pedals.
The Power2Max power meter is integrated with the Campagnolo Super Record crankset.
AG2R Citroën Cycling Team relies on the Wahoo Elemnt cycling computer for the live data displays.
The riders of AG2R Citroën Cycling Team wear HJC helmets, Smith sunglasses, Rosti cycling jerseys, bib-shorts, socks, and gloves.
AG2R Citroën Cycling Team doesn’t have a cycling shoes sponsor at the team level. Like many other professional teams, each rider is free to wear the cycling shoes that best fit him. As long as they are white, of course.
