    The 123rd edition of the “Hell of the North” is upon us, and 2026 marks a turning point in the technical evolution of the cobblestone classic. With the men’s and women’s races now sharing the same day (Sunday, April 12), the pressure on mechanics is higher than ever.

    The 2026 route features a brutal 54.8 km of pavé. While iconic sectors like the Trouée d’Arenberg remain, race director Thierry Gouvenou has increased the density of cobbles early in the race near Briastre, forcing teams to rethink their tire and pressure strategies for a more explosive opening.

    The French pro cyclist joined the team Jumbo-Visma in 2022 with two years contract.
    What did happens to Christophe?
    Since he joined the team Jumbo-Visma, he is starting the season stronger than ever.
    According to Laporte, this year’s training camp has been beneficial to his great start to the season 2022.

    Christophe Laporte is a sprinter type of rider. He used to be a team leader at Team Cofidis.
    For sure the move to Jumbo-Visma and becoming team support for Wout Van Aert and Primoz Roglic is a change. But that’s very positive for Laporte’s results too.

    I am probably not alone to think Van Aert is the best pro road rider in the 2022 peloton.

    Wout does accumulate the victories in all road racing specialties there are. He wins sprint stages, mountain stages, and Time Trial races. Not forgetting, he also dominates the Cyclo-Cross.
