    Andrea Piccolo’s 2023 Bike Size

Today I am writing about Andrea Piccolo’s 2023 Bike Size.
In case you don’t know who is Andrea Piccolo, he is one of those super-talented young riders joining the pro peloton.

Andrea joined the team EF Education-EasyPost on August 2022 with a contract up to 2024 included.
As soon as the young Italian rider joined the World Tour’s team, Andrea started racing on some end-of-the-season classics.

    Already a Great Rider

He finished 5th on the Maryland Cycling Classic, 3rd on the Coppa Agostini – Giro Del Brianze, 11th on Il Lombardia, and 2nd on the Japan Cup Cycle Road Race.
It looks like the Team EF Education-EasyPost has picked up a promising rider.

  • Neilson Powless’ 2022 Bike Size

    Neilson Powless’ 2022 Bike Size

This page focus on Neilson Powless’ 2022 bike size, fitting, and specification.
The professional road cyclist from the U.S.A. is racing the UCI World Tour with the team EF Education EasyPost until the season 2024 included.
Which is an excellent choice in my opinion. Neilson can focus on racing instead of spending his energy adapting to a new team, new bike, new environment, etc…

To describe Neilson Powless in a condensed way, he is a General Classification (GC) type of rider.
He races mainly multiple stages races like the Tour de France at which he did a great race.
2022 is the best professional racing season for Neilson so far and as he is still 26 years old he can still progress.

This page focuses on Rigoberto Uran’s 2022 Bike Size as he races the Tour de France, and La Vuelta a Espana with team EF Education-EasyPost.
The Colombian pro cyclist is an excellent climber and a great contender in Grand Tour races.

    Size 51

Rigoberto Uran is 1m73 tall, weighs 63kg at his peak form, and rides the Cannondale SuperSix EVO size 51cm.

Rigoberto Uran’s Cannondale SuperSix EVO Tour de Future edition size 51cm.

On the Tour de France 2022 Rigoberto Uran was racing with a Cannondale SuperSix EVO Hi-MOD “Tour de Future” limited edition color bike. This color was to celebrate the Tour de France Femmes by Zwift.

On La Vuelta a Espana 2022, Uran is racing on the Cannondale SuperSix EVO Leichtbau. The Leichbau is 200 frames limited edition that can be recognized by its black color.

“Leichtbau” means “Made of Lightweight Materials” in German. I am not sure of the marketing reason to use German apart from the cool factor.

Cannondale claims the SuperSix EVO Leichtbau is 90g lighter than the regular SuperSix with the Leichtau frame weighting only 750g. Unfortunately, I could not find which size this is referring to.

Hugh Carthy and Merhawi Kudus are two other riders from team EF Education-EasyPost racing with the SuperSix EVO Leichtau in La Vuelta a Espana.

    Rigo’s Bike Fit

Now, let’s get back to the specifics of Rigoberto Uran’s bike size and fitting.

Rigoberto Uran rides with a Prologo Scratch M5 open saddle. The saddle position is 717mm from the center of the bottom bracket to the top of the saddle. The sea post has a 21mm setback and the saddle’s setback is at 59mm.

The tip of the saddle is 549mm from the center of the Vision 5D handlebar’s reach. The stem is 120mm in length with a -6 Degrees angle and the bar width is 400mm.

    Shorter Cranks

Now the part where it gets interesting in terms of the fitting is the crank length. A couple of years ago Rigoberto was using 170mm cranks length. Nowadays, Uran is racing with 165mm cranks arm’s length.

I noticed some riders among the peloton having 165mm cranks length recently, could it be the next trend in road cycling?

The size 51 Cannondale SuperSix EVO has a 74mm Bottom-Bracket drop which is fairly low compared with other road racing bikes but I don’t think this is the reason for the switch from 170 to 165mm cranks.

Uran’s Cannondale SuperSix EVO Leichtbau is assembled with an FSA SLK carbon crankset with 54/40 teeths chainrings.
The pedals are the Wahoo Speedplay Aero. These are the one-sided model with Stainless steel axles and a Q-Factor of 53mm.

    No PowerMeter Rigo

Another fun fact about Rigoberto Uran, he doesn’t use any PowerMeter when racing.
He uses a heart rate monitor and a Wahoo speedometer computer mounted on a Silca mount only when relying on data, the rest is based on guts and feelings.

The rest of Uran’s bike is assembled with Shimano Dura-Ace di2 12 speeds, disc groupset. The rear cassette is the 12-speeds Shimano Dura-Ace 11-34 teeth.
The wheels are the Vision brand with various rim heights depending on the race’s profile.
Uran won stage 17 of La Vuelta 2022 with the Vision Metron 55 carbon wheels fitted with Vittoria Corsa 26mm of section tubular tires.

    What Rigoberto Uran Wears?

Rigoberto Uran wears a POC helmet, POC sunglasses, Rapha cycling Jersey, bib-shorts and socks, Sidi Shot Air cycling shoes in white color, and WHOOPS Biosensor.
EF Education-EasyPost team doesn’t have a cycling shoe contract, as a result, each rider is free to wear shoes that fit him.

The Cannondale SuperSix EVO Leichtbau of Rigoberto Uran cost approximately US$ 17,000 but since it is a limited edition of only 200 units, this price could become much higher as time goes.
