What is Nils Politt’s Factor Bike Size for 2020?

Nils Politt Factor O2 VAM Disc Size 58cm geometry

Nils Politt is racing the 2020 season on the Factor O2 VAM Disc size 58cm frame.

Factor recommends the O2 VAM size 58cm for riders between 1m80 and 1m88. As I regularly write in my pro rider’s bike size checks, Pro riders tend to pick one size smaller than manufacturer recommended size.

This is for various reasons but mainly because a smaller size feels more agile and the head tube is shorter resulting in a lower cockpit position. Which means a more aerodynamic position.

The added advantage of a smaller frame is that the rider can adjust his position with the components.

The 58cm Factor O2 VAM features a 580mm top tube length, 548mm seat tube length, 1005mm wheelbase and 43mm fork rake.

It is interesting to note the fact that Factor is doing the proper job to design the bigger sized frames with longer chainstays of 410mm. Factor’s frame geometry is spot on for racing!

How is the position set for 1m92 tall rider?

Nils uses a 130mm long ,-6 degrees Black ink stem / 400mm width handleBar combo.

His seat post setback is 25mm and crankset arm length is 175mm.

It is strategically important to keep to observe how many riders among the same team races with the same bike size. There are 6 riders using size 58cm (XL) Factor bikes among the team Israel Start-Up Nation. It can be of great support when a team leader needs a bike from his team mate before the support car arrives.
