Total Energies Team 2022 Presentation


The French UCI Pro Team has signed a two years contract with the most influential rider among the pro peloton. This makes Total Energies Team 2022 Presentation compulsory on this site.

Total Energies Team is a very well known team in France as it always had popular riders with the French population such as Thomas Voekler and Sylvain Chavanel.

This time the “little” French team has signed a two years contract with the most influential professional rider; Peter Sagan.

Beyond the fact it is a big move for the team to welcome the three times World champion, there are deeper implication involved with it.

In fact, Peter is not alone to join TotalEnergies team 2022, Peter has his clan following him.

Peter Sagan’s Clan

The Sagan’s clan consist of Juraj Sagan, Daniel Oss and Maciej Bodnar. But also sports director Ján Valach, a mechanic, a trainer and his own press officer. Yes that’s a team within a team!

But there is even more to the story. Specialized brand image is so much tied with Peter Sagan; the big American brand followed and is now sponsor of Total Energies team 2022.

Another brand marketing department understood the move and also followed, that is Sportful clothes. The team jerseys are now made by Sportful.

Team Strategy

The Total Energies team is now one of the best (read potential to win) the Cobbled classic like Paris-Roubaix and Flandrian Classics.

TERPSTRA Niki, BOASSON HAGEN Edvald, BODNAR Maciej, OSS Daniel, SOUPE Geoffrey, TURGIS Anthony, VAN GESTEL Dries are the riders participating in the Paris-Roubaix 2022.

Jean Bernaudeau, the team manager, is confident the team is strong enough to win on the classics with the likes of Boasson Hagen, Bodnar, Oss, Tepstra and the two leaders; Peter Sagan and Anthony Turgis.

Bernaudeau expects to compete on the Grand Tours in 2022 with a lot of involvement from the team on sprint stages with Peter Sagan and Niccolò Bonifazio. On mountain stages expectation are set on Pierre Latour.

SAGAN Peter, BODNAR Maciej, BOASSON HAGEN Edvald, BURGAUDEAU Mathieu, LATOUR Pierre, OSS Daniel, TURGIS Anthony, and VUILLERMOZ Alexis are racing the Tour de France 2022.

The TotalEnergies team is racing on Specialized S-Works Tarmac SL7 road bikes. Typically they are built with Shimano Dura Ace Di2 9200 12 speed, disc brakes group set. Wheels are from Roval, tires, saddles, seat post, handlebar and stem from Specialized. Bar tapes are from Supacaz.
