23 teams of 8 riders start the Spanish Grand Tour that is held for three weeks.

Among the 23 teams, 6 teams are racing with 12 speeds (Campagnolo / Sram)while the remaining 17 teams are racing with only 11 speeds (Shimano / FSA).

Only one team is racing with rim brakes, the Team Ineos – Grenadier.

If the last two edition of La Vuelta have been won on rim brakes by Primož ROGLIČ , this year the odds are thin for the Vuelta to be won on rim brakes as Primož is now on disc.

Will the Vuelta be won by disc brakes bike or rim brakes? Whichever is fine, I only gather facts and have no particular preference. For sure the rim brakes era is fading away.
