2023 Season Plans For Team Jayco AlUla

The Team Jayco AlUla 2023 has a strong squad able to win sprint races with Dylan Groenewegen with the support of Luka Mezgec.
Zdeněk Stybar and Felix Engelhardt are the prime riders for the one-day classics.
Michael Matthews and Simon Yates are the General Classification (GC) obvious candidates on the team.

Among the riders of the Team Jayco AlUla 2023, Filippo Zana is the rider I mostly see racing.
At the age of 23 years old, he is starting his cycling career as a WorldTour with three giro D’Italia participation and being the Italian Road Race National Champion.
Zana raced with the Italian ProTour team Bardiani-CSF-Faizanè, which has been invited to race the Giro d’Italia every year. Thus the valuable experience of the young and talented Philippo Zana despite his first season in a WorldTour team.

As Team Jayco AlUla is a WorldTour it is participating in the full UCI WorldTour race calendar.

The team starts its 2023 season with Michael Matthews, Simon Yates, Luke Durbridge, Chris Hamilton, Michael Hepburn, Chris Harper, and Campbell Stewart racing the Santos Tour Down Under.

DURBRIDGE Luke, REINDERS Elmar, BALMER Alexandre, PÖSTLBERGER Lukas, ŠTYBAR Zdeněk,O’BRIEN Kelland, and STEWART Campbell are riding the paves of Paris-Roubaix 2023.

MATTHEWS Michael, DE MARCHI Alessandro, DUNBAR Eddie, HEPBURN Michael, PÖSTLBERGER Lukas, SCOTSON Callum, STEWART Campbell, and ZANA Filippo are racing the Giro d’Italia 2023 with some stage win as the common goal.

Simon Yates, Dylan Groenewegen, Michael Matthews, Luka Mezgec, and Tsgabu Grmay are racing the Tour de France 2023 with the aim of some stage wins.

Eddie Dunbar is selected to race the Vuelta a Espana 2023. However, most of the rider selection will be confirmed after the second half of the road racing season has started. That is around June or July.

New Season, Same Bikes

The bikes and material the Team Jayco AlUla uses for the 2023 season remain mainly the same as for the 2022 season.

Team Jayco AlUla races on the Giant Advanced TCL for the climbers and the Giant Propel Advanced SL for the sprinters.
The Time-Trial bike of the team is the Giant Trinity Advanced Pro.
Giant is the bike sponsor of Team Jayco AlUla with a contract up to the season 2024 included.

The Giant bikes are assembled with Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 12-speed 9200 groupset.
The wheels are from the Giant lightweight parts catalog called Cadex.
Officially the team races on Giant branded tires, but Vittoria Super Corsa tires are often the preferred choice of the riders.

Riders’ three contact points with their bike are a Cadex saddle, a Giant branded handlebar/stem, and the reliable Shimano Dura-Ace SPD-SL PD-R9100 pedals.

For its live data feedback, Team Jayco AlUla uses the Giant Dash L200 cycling computer.

Riders of Team Jayco AlUla wear Giant Rev helmets, Ale cycling jerseys, bib-shorts, and gloves.
The Team Jayco AlUla doesn’t have a shoe sponsor at the team level. Each rider is free to wear the cycling shoes that fit him best.
