Tour de France 2025 is on. 23 teams, 185 riders, and wild bikes are set to race 3,336.8 km across France — and this year, there are no border crossings. It’s the 112th edition, starting July 5 in Lille and finishing in Paris on July 27. This guide breaks down the Tour de France 2025 teams, riders, and bikes you’ll want to follow. Let’s dive in.

This route is brutal. In fact, it’s one of the toughest we’ve seen in years. Both the Pyrenees and the Alps are packed in. Moreover, there are six summit finishes. For example, Mont Ventoux returns in week 3, while the time trial to Peyragudes offers another big climbing day. As a result, this edition won’t favor sprinters. Climbers and GC riders will thrive.
🚨 Week 1: Chaos, Wind & Punchy Climbs
Week 1: Expect chaos.
The riders head through Normandy and Brittany regions known for wind, narrow roads, and short, punchy climbs. Consequently, sprinters might grab the yellow jersey on day one. However, GC riders need to stay alert by Stage 2, since the finish in Boulogne-sur-Mer is steep and technical.
And there’s more — no rest day until Stage 11.
That means ten straight stages with no pause. Thanks to Bastille Day, the schedule stacks the first week brutally. In total, riders will face 4,500 meters of elevation gain before the first rest.
⛰️ Week 2: TT Showdown & Big Mountains
Week 2: A mixed terrain awaits.
There may be a few sprint stages to catch a breather. However, two summit finishes and a mountain time trial to Peyragudes will test every rider’s limits. As a result, the peloton is likely to split, and many will crack under pressure.
🔥 Week 3: Mont Ventoux & Final Battles
Week 3 is savage.
Mont Ventoux kicks things off. After that, two monster stages follow back-to-back. Each with over 4,500 meters of elevation gain. As a result, the general classification will likely be decided here.
Stage 18 of the Tour de France 2025 is a true high-altitude test.
Riders will face 5,450 meters of total climbing across 171.5 kilometers. First, they tackle the Col du Glandon. Next, it’s the long grind up the Col de la Madeleine. Then, they take on the brutal slopes of the Col de la Loze. Finally, the stage finishes with 26.4 kilometers of relentless climbing to the summit. It’s one of the most demanding stages in this year’s Tour. Therefore, expect significant GC shakeups on this pivotal day of the Tour de France 2025.
The final stage to Paris isn’t just a parade anymore.
For the first time, riders will climb Montmartre three times before heading to the Champs-Élysées. This iconic Parisian hill was part of the 2024 Olympic road race. Where fans packed the streets like it was a mountain stage in the Alps.
Because of that, expect a loud, chaotic, and tactical finish. Among the Tour de France 2025 teams and bikes, squads with punchy climbers might take one last shot at glory.
In fact, this finale could flip the script on tradition. With narrow roads, sharp gradients, and wild energy, it’s not a day to relax — it’s a day to attack.
As a result, the final stage of Tour de France 2025 could deliver fireworks all the way to the line.
⚙️ Tech & Gear Watch: Bikes, Tires, Setups
Also — side note: teams are showing up with some serious tech.
A few riders are on prototype aero bikes and new tires. The gear choices in the crosswinds early on could make or break some GC hopes. Cycling is a sailing sport in the end.
This Tour’s gonna be wild.
And I’ll break down all the bikes, setups, and what each team’s riding below.
If you’re into tech, strategy, and rider form, this is your full guide to the Tour de France 2025 teams, riders, and bikes.👇
🟡 Tour de France 2025 Teams, Riders & Bikes: The 23 Squads Lining Up
All 18 WorldTour teams and 5 ProTeams are here, and this year’s startlist is loaded with GC firepower, rising talents, and breakaway specialists. We’ve got three weeks of racing, six summit finishes, and enough wild terrain to blow the race apart.
Once again, it’s shaping up as a Vingegaard vs Pogačar Tour. Among the Tour de France 2025 teams, riders, and bikes. UAE Team Emirates brings serious firepower. Tadej 👑 leads the charge, rolling out on his new Colnago Y1RS aero bike and switching to the V5RS in the mountains. He’s riding on Continental’s Archetype 30mm tires. Built for windy coastlines and alpine descents alike. UAE’s got a stacked squad: João Almeida, Adam Yates, and Marc Soler are all in.
Visma fires back with Jonas Vingegaard 👑. He’s backed by none other than Wout van Aert and Sepp Kuss. That yellow jersey battle is fully loaded.
Remco Evenepoel returns for his second Tour after a podium finish in 2024. He’s not here to ride defensive. Expect fireworks early.
Riders I’m most hyped about:
- Thibau Nys ⚪ – Cyclocross legend, crazy talent, and now climbing with the best.
- Florian Lipowitz ⚪ – underrated GC wildcard, could surprise a lot of people.
- Kévin Vauquelin ⚪ – 2nd at Tour de Suisse, rides smart and strong.
- Romain Grégoire ⚪ – great instinct, aggressive style, built for hilly breakaways.
Also on my radar: Fred Wright, Arnaud De Lie ⚪, and Oscar Onley ⚪ . All capable of making the most of chaotic days.
At just 21 years old, both Iván Romeo and Lenny Martinez ⚪ are the youngest in the race. Already showing maturity beyond their age. On the opposite end, Geraint Thomas, now 39, lines up for his final Grand Tour. The 2018 Tour de France winner will want to leave with a bang.
Below you’ll find all Tour de France 2025 teams, riders, and bikes. Complete rosters, team leaders 👑, white jersey hopefuls ⚪, and the gear they’ll ride for three weeks across France.
