The 2020 Tour de France edition is the first time the Grand Tour is starting at the end of the month of August. It has never been scheduled 2 months later than original planned and never started so late.

The 2020 edition is a very tough edition with a lot of mountain stages and very few opportunities for sprinters. Sprinters will have about up to nine opportunities out of the 21 stages. Hilly stages could be some extra opportunities depending on the capacity of the sprinters to go over the hills. But those same stages will be equally raced by the all-rounders trying to rally the finish line ahead of the peloton.
It is said the “Tour is won in the Alps”, we will see if the saying holds true this year too. There are a lot of steep climbs these year. Despite a long period of no competition between March and June, riders will start to feel tired on the third week ending in the Alps.
The 2020 Tour de France peloton consist 22 teams of 8 riders each. This represents 176 unique riders with their unique skills and talents. It is also 178 bikes set up reflecting their owner, a climber, a sprinter, a Gregorio or an all rounder.
Keep in mind the Tour de France is traditionally the time when manufacturers introduce new models. This explains why some bikes may not up to date.

The whole Team Ineos Grenadier is racing the Tour de France 2020 with the Pinarello F12 X-Light, Rim brake type. The groupset is Shimano Dura Ace di2 11 speed. Stem and handlebar are from MOST. Fizik saddle. Depending of stage profile wheels are from Shimano or Lightweight. Tires are from Continental. Tubulars type most of the time.
